iCareHub is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

As a health and social care provider, we recognise our responsibility to reduce our environmental impact while continuing to deliver safe, person-centred and high-quality care and support.

Our Commitment

We are committed to:

• achieving  Net Zero emissions by 2050; 
• reducing carbon emissions from travel, energy use, procurement and waste; 
• using digital systems where appropriate to reduce paper and unnecessary journeys; 
• promoting efficient rota planning and localised care delivery; 
• encouraging staff awareness of environmental responsibility; 
• reviewing our environmental performance annually. 

Key Areas of Action

1. Travel and Transport

We will reduce avoidable travel by:

• planning staff rotas efficiently; 
• grouping visits geographically where possible; 
• encouraging car sharing where appropriate and safe; 
• using virtual meetings where suitable; 
• supporting staff to consider lower-emission travel options. 

2. Energy Use

We will reduce energy consumption by:

• encouraging responsible use of heating, lighting and electrical equipment; 
• selecting energy-efficient equipment where possible; 
• monitoring office energy use; 
• promoting staff awareness of energy-saving measures. 

3. Digital Working and Paper Reduction

We will reduce paper use by:

• using electronic care records where appropriate; 
• sharing documents digitally where safe and compliant; 
• avoiding unnecessary printing; 
• securely storing and transferring information electronically. 

4. Waste Reduction

We will reduce waste by:

• reusing and recycling materials where appropriate; 
• minimising single-use items where this does not compromise infection prevention andcontrol; 
• safe and responsible waste disposal methods; 
• encouraging staff to follow waste reduction practices.

5. Sustainable Procurement

We will seek to work with suppliers who demonstrate responsible environmental practices. Where possible, we will consider sustainability when purchasing goods, equipment and services.

Monitoring and Review

iCareHub will review this Net Zero Plan annually. We will monitor progress through management review, staff feedback, supplier review and operational performance data.

This plan will be updated as our organisation develops its carbon reporting and environmental management arrangements.
